רפאל סופר נולד בצרפת בשנת 1976 ומשתייך לעדה התוניסאית, סבו הרב נתן ברכה ז"ל למד את הפיוטים יחד עם הפייטן דוד ריאחי ז"ל אצל אשר מזרחי ז"ל בתוניס, מהם שאב רפאל את השירה הפיוטית והרצון להמשיך את המסורת של סבא ע"ה.
בצרפת למד רפאל את רזי הפיוט והשירה מהמלחין והזמר הלבנוני וואעדי אל סאפי שכתב מעל 3,000 שירים במהלך חייו, שאת חלקם חידשו גדולי הפייטנים היהודיים.
לפני שעלה לישראל, שימש רפאל סופר בתור החזן הראשי של בית הכנסת הגדולה ביותר בצרפת 'לה ויקטוור' של יהודי מצריים, לצד הופעות ענק עם המוזיקה הפיוטית השורשית.
את העלייה לישראל עשה רפאל סופר לפני כארבע עשרה שנים, השתכן בירושלים והפך להיות החזן של בית הכנסת 'עדס' כשהוא ממשיך להופיע בשבתות פיוט והופעות כאן בארץ.
כעת, לראשונה בעולם הפיוט, רפאל סופר משיק אלבום EP הכולל חידוש לשלוש פיוטים מוכרים עם עיבודים חדשניים עדכניים לשנת 2023.
הגאווה - אבי השקף נא - תן שלום , מעטרים את האלבום שעיבד דוד מיימוני, שמצטרפים לפיוט 'אתה צדיק' בלחן לבנוני, שהוציא סופר רק לפני כחודש.
